Step 1
The charge comes off the visit
Codes from the signed note, the amount from the practice’s own fee schedule. Nothing is retyped.
Step 2
Self-pay settles the same day
A card on file settles through Helcim, net of fees, straight onto the ledger.
Step 3
An insured visit waits for the remittance
The charge is posted now. What the payer actually paid arrives later and is matched against it.
Step 4
Both sides are double entry
These are real books on the practice’s own chart of accounts, not a list of payments.
Step 5
Every posted charge is a close check
Charges posted for every visit is one of the thirty-seven checks, so a charge nobody posted becomes visible at the end of the month rather than never.
